One day visiting Sapa town and its highlights, two days on wheels to explore the two stunning valleys near by Sapa, paying visit to tribal villages This trip is a combination of cyclists’ love with short walking, nature’s beauty and new culture discovery.          
Night 1: Take overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai
Please, be ready at your hotel lobby at 20.00 for a short transfer to Hanoi railways station for taking the overnight train (first class 4 beds cabin with air-condition) which arrive in Lao Cai city, near the Chinese border next morning.          

Day 1 // Sapa Town’s Highlights    
The train arrives at Lao Cai station early at about 06.00, meet your guide and driver as you check out and an hour transfer uphill the Hoang Lien Son mountains to Sapa. Great views of valleys and terraced rice fields along the way.
After Breakfast your guide will show you around for a brief introduction of this charming town. At the market, ethnic minority people of different groups wearing their traditional costumes made by themselves comes every day selling local products includes vegetable, bamboo shoot, mushroom, medicinal herbs and souvenirs…there are chances to get intact and taking photos. Afterwards you will follow the footsteps uphill to the top of Ham Rong Mountain for over viewing beautiful scenery of the town and surrounding area, paying visit to an orchard garden and a mini museum which tells you a lot about ethnic minority people living in Sapa and the northwest region.
Later in the afternoon, you may wish to continue your walk down hill to visit Cat Cat village of the Black H’mong, 5 km away or drop in a local terraced café to enjoy your self as the cloud comes and goes.

Day 2 // Explore Ma Tra & Ta Phin Valley // Silver Waterfall    
Today morning, you will explore Ma Tra and Ta Phin valley on southeast of Sa Pa town. Leaving Sapa, you will cycle along the motor way fro few kilometers, then turn to a dirt road up and down hill to visit Ma Tra Village of the H’Mong, where you will leave your bike and take a walk for an hour to different hamlets scattering from the bottom of the valley to higher mountain slopes.
Continue on two wheels for another hours to center of Ta Phin Valley where you will meet groups of Red Zao women making handicrafts includes embroidered clothes, handbags… You will explore this village of the Red Zao for an hour and then set down for Lunch. Long Break with a lot of photos taken before following the main road up hill back to Sapa. The afternoon cycle 14km to the Silver Waterfall is let open on your decision then. If not cycle, you may enjoy this portion of the trip by vehicle.
Arrive back to Sapa and the rest few hours is set at your leisure.

Day 3 // Tribal Villages Exploration along Muong Hoa Valley // Night train to Hanoi    
Starting your cycle from Sapa at 08.00Am, heading south along the narrow motor way downhill and the first 7km features with steep road, wild nature and spectacular scenery of Fansipan Mount on your right side and then the large view of Muong Hoa Valley opens wide suddenly. You will cross the Muong Hoa River and exploring ethnic villages including Ta Van(Zay) and Lao Chai and Su Pan(Black H’mong).
Continue 12 km further south, you will see another large valley in oval shape. As you cycle along the road winding on the left side of the valley at high elevation great view of the Ban Ho Valley dominated by green fields and stilt houses stretching far away under your wheels. Descending downhill for about 20minutes you will arrive Ban Ho Village of the Tay where you will enjoy Lunch prepared in a local home. After long break for Lunch you will leave your bikes here and on foot to explore Ban Ho and nearby villages.
The way back is flexible for your choice. You may choose to cycle for some portions and on vehicle for the rest of the road and arriving back to your hotel in Sapa before 05.00Pm. Take a quick shower and transfer to Lao Cai Station for the night train back to Hanoi. Which arrive the next morning and end up your trip.

After a full day visiting Sapa town and its wonders, you will cycle along the only narrow road to explore the southwest remote area of Sapa, famous with breathtaking landscapes of the Muong Hoa and Ban Ho Valleys which are homes to most of Sapa’s ethnic population such as Black H’mong, Red Zao, Zay & Tay people. Combining with short trekking, the trip brings memorable experience and fun only in nice weather.

Day 2 // Sapa // Su Pan // Thanh Phu // Sin Chai  
Starting your cycle from Sapa heading south along the narrow motor downhill and the first 7km features with steep road, wild nature and spectacular scenery of Fansipan Mount on your right side and then the large view of Muong Hoa Valley opens wide suddenly. You will cross the Muong Hoa River and exploring ethnic villages including Ta Van(Zay) and Lao Chai and Su Pan(Black H’mong).
Continue 12 km further south, you will see another large valley in oval shape. As you cycle along the road winding on the left side of the valley at high elevation great view of the Ban Ho Valley dominated by green fields and stilt houses stretching far away under your wheels. Arriving in the Tay ethnic minority village of Thanh Phu at noon and enjoying a brief discovery of the village before Lunch. In the afternoon, your adventure continues up and down hills and valleys for another 20km with many photo stops before arriving in Sin Chai, a village of the Red Zao ethnic peoples. Here after a coffee break, you may choose cycling or walking for few hours around to explore the Red Zao unique way of life as well as enjoying sunset. Dinner with local dishes is served in a local house and stay overnight in the bamboo huts.

Day 3 // Sin Chai // Ban Ho // Sapa // Overnight train to Hanoi
After breakfast you will cycling along a narrow and dusty road for about 2 hours to the centre of Ban Ho Valley. Here you will leave your bicycle and enjoy a short walk to explore this large village of the Tay which is built in a beautiful nature setting by the side of the Nam Sai River. Unfortunately It is often hot here due low elevation and high surrounding mountains. The nearby river will offers good fun for swimming. A picnic Lunch will be prepared on the river bank, and you will enjoy music of the nature played by wind, birds…
Cycling up hills back is a challenge but not to tough and you are not in a hurry to make it flexible to have as many photo stops as possible.
Arriving back to Sapa late in the afternoon, take a shower before transfer downhill to Lao Cai station for the overnight train back to Hanoi which arrives early the next morning.

Following the motor way the first day and getting off the beaten track for the way back, your wheels will make a loop around the two large valley: Binh Lu and Tam Duong on Fansipan’s westside which boasts imposing scene of Hoang Lien Son Range as well as stunning landscapes of the mountainous plateau featuring with mountain back drops, green tea plantaitons and rice fields which surround villages of the Black Zao, Red H’mong and Lu ethnic peoples. The trip is also a perfect alternation for other trips in months of bad weather in Sapa.

At the market, ethnic minority people of different groups wearing their traditional costumes made by themselves comes every day selling local products includes vegetable, bamboo shoot, mushroom, medicinal herbs and souvenirs…there are chances to get intact and taking photos. Afterwards you will follow the footsteps uphill to the top of Ham Rong Mountain for over viewing beautiful scenery of the town and surrounding area, paying visit to an orchard garden and a mini museum which tells you a lot about ethnic minority people living in Sa Pa and the northwest region.
After Lunch, transfer 14km to the center of Ta Phin valley, then you will enjoy an easy walk following village path, paying visit to some H’mong hamlets scattering from the bottom of the valley to higher mountain slopes. From high elevation, great view of the valley stretching under your foot. Continue your walk to the Red Zao village in which you will meet groups of women making handicrafts includes embroidered clothes, handbags… Transfer back to Sa Pa in late afternoon and the rest hours is at your leisure.

Day 2 // Cycle over Heaven Gate // Binh Lu // Tam Duong    
Commencing the trip from Sapa, you will cycle uphill, passing green chayote farms on the bamboo frames and rose gardens which cover the mountain slops for over 10km. First long break at the famous Silver Waterfall to enjoy magnificent scenery and overview spectacular valley. Continue cycling uphill few kilometres further to the top of Tram Ton Pass, the highest mountain pass in Vietnam at 1,800m above sea level. From here stunning views of the valley stretches in your sight and the road downhill winds its way as a thin string on the hillsides. 18km cycling downhill with lots of fun and many stops for photos and you will arrive to a Red H’mong village of Chu Va at the foot of Hoang Lien near a clear stream of water, where you can enjoy Lunch break and swim in the river as well. After Lunch and taking a short walk around the village, you will continue cycle descending to Binh Lu where another stop to visit the market here. Afterwards, a two hours leisurely cycle to explore this lush valley, paying visit to the Lu and Zao Tien villages.
You will continue cycling uphill 15km of the Hong Thu Man mountain range and when arriving at the top the great view of Tam Duong Valley which is surrounded by impressive mountain back drops with green tea plantations and terraced rice paddies. Arriving in Ban Hon Village of the Lu peoples, beautifully set on a bank of a river, taking shower or if you like swimming in the river and free walk to explore the village.

Day 3 // Cycle Hon Village // Binh Lu by back road // Overnight train to Hanoi After Breakfast, It is really nice to attend the market here for about an hour where you can meet many local ethnic peoples in their traditional costumes such as the Red H’mong, Black Zao, Zao with coins, Lu, Lao…
Leaving Tam Duong at about 09.00 Am you will get off the main road and follow a dirt road for a bout 45km off the beaten track. There is more fun along the way while you cycle through this quiet and peaceful region and paying visit to the Lu and Black Zao villages along the way. A late
Lunch will be prepare in a village near Binh Lu town and along break by the side of the river again for recharging energy before cycling up hill the Hoang Lien Son range again.
The way uphill is as far as 40km and very steep, so it is flexible for you to cycle as far as you wish, other while vehicle will carry the bikes and you will relax and enjoy landscape from the jeep or van. Getting to Lao Cao Station late in the afternoon, you have time for a quick shower and Dinner on your own before boarding the overnight train for Hanoi. Trip ends early next morning as you arrive in Hanoi.

Day 2 // Sapa // Tram Ton Pass // Binh Lu // Hon Village    
Breakfast and check out your hotel for three days cycle trip to explore the untouched region on the west side of Hoang Lien Son range. Getting out of Sapa town you will challenge you pedals uphill to conquer the height of Tram Ton Pass, the top of Vietnam’s road at about 2,000m above sea level where great view stretching under your wheels. The 25km downhill will be full of fun with many stops for breathtaking scenery. Reaching to Binh Lu town at the centre of a lush valley you will enjoy visiting a small market where the Red H’mong, Black Zao and Lu peoples from nearby villages often come to sell vegetable and fire wood before Lunch. Afternoon’s adventure is cycling up and down hill a narrow road through an untouched region, passing many villages of the Lu ethnic who still dye their teeth black and wear very nice traditional costumes and live in stilt houses. After fancying occasional stops for visiting villages along the way you arrive in Ban Hon, a large village of the Lu formed by nearly a hundred houses built on stilt where we settle down for an overnight home stay.

Day 3 // Hon Village // Tam Duong // Pa So Village    
After Breakfast and spend an hour exploring the village, meeting people and witnessing their every day life activities we have to say good bye to the Lu people. your first portion of cycle is easy along quiet and flat road for about 18km passing lush rice fields, tea plantation and villages with mountain back drops before reaching to Tam Duong, the new central town of Lai Chau Province. Here we spend about an hour to join the local peoples including some Red H’mong and Zao at the market. Lunch is served in a restaurant in Tam Duong. Continue cycle along the motor way uphill to challenge another mountain pass for about 25km, and then following the Nam Na River tributary with visiting to Red H’mong and White Thai villages before arriving to Paso, a newly built small town on the bank of Nam Na River. Check in a pretty local hotel and the rest of the day is on your own.

Day 4 // Exploring the Untouched Region // Overnight train to Hanoi
This morning you will fancy a leisure cycle along a quiet country road along Nam Na River to explore the untouched region near the Chinese border. Visiting villages of the Red H’mong and Thai peoples in the region, you have chances to meet very friendly, witnessing their unchanged way of life for hundred of years. Back to the hotel for Lunch and a short break, you will check out and boarding a van for driving all the way to Lao Cai Station for taking the overnight train for Hanoi. Trip ends the next morning as you arrive in Hanoi Station at about 06.00.
