Night 1: Take overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai
Be ready at our office,  Hang Bo Street, Hoan Kiem District, at 20.00 for a short transfer to Hanoi Station to take the overnight train to Lao Cai City.

Day 1 // Lao Cai // Sapa // Y Linh Ho // Lao Chai // Ta Van
Picked up at Lao Cai Station upon your early arrival for over an hour drive uphill in a shared mini van to Sapa. After freshen up and Breakfast in a local restaurant you will enjoy a free walk around this charming town, paying visit to Sapa market and the old cathedral where you can meet a lot of local ethnic minority peoples such as Black H’mong and Red Zao wearing their traditional colorful dresses selling their farming and gathering products and handicrafts for souvenir. Back to our Sapa office at about 10.30 and begin your exploration trip to Muong Hoa valley. You will follow the main road heading south for about an hour before turning right to a foot path down hill to Muong Hoa Valley. This part offers spectacular scenery of the highest part of Hoang Lien Son mountain range and in a nice day, Fansipan Peak can be seen. Crossing the river by a suspension bridge you will challenge your feet uphill to Y Linh Ho village. Here you will pay visiting to some H’mong families, watching them doing their daily works. After picnic Lunch, the trail continues up and down hill for about 2 hours as you reach to Lao Chai, a large village of the H’mong and then following the river bank to Ta Van of the Zay people. Paying visiting to local homes, village schools… you will enjoy much your cultural discovery of local ethnic peoples as well as breathtaking scenery of the Muong Hoa Valley. Settle down in Ta Van village for an overnight home stay.

Day 2 // Ta Van // Giang Ta Chai // Hau Thao // Sapa // Overnight train to Hanoi Leaving Ta Van village after Breakfast, you will take the trail uphill, passing fascinating terraced rice field and some small hamlets of the H’mong before getting through a bamboo forest to a waterfall, enjoy a break for magnificent scenery and then continue walking for half an hour to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zao peoples which sits on the top of a hill and looks down Muong Hoa river. After spending time visiting the village, making friend with the Zao and experiencing the hospitality you will cross the river by another suspension bridge and then uphill again to Hau Thao village where you will pay visiting to a local handicraft center where H’mong and Zao women gather for exchanging experience and skill of making handicrafts. A late Lunch will be prepare here nearby this center and then you have time relaxing as well as getting acquaintance with local school boys, girls and their teachers as well.
Later a short drive will take you back to Sapa, take a shower and enjoy about two hours free time in Sapa before transfer down hill to Lao Cai station to take the overnight train back to Hanoi, which arrives early next morning and the trip ends.

Getting through Cat Cat village of the H’mong, you will pay visiting to some local homes, witnessing their daily life activities and experiencing their hospitability. Continue walking down to the valley bottom, having a break at a stunning waterfall where the French built a hydraulic power station, you will walk uphill and make a loop around the valley and get back to Sapa. The rest of the afternoon and evening is at your leisure.

Leaving Ta Van village after Breakfast and following the foot path uphill, you will pass through impressive terraced rice paddies on the hill slopes before getting through a bamboo forest, a huge waterfall to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zao peoples. Walking around the village you will meet many women with their embroidery work to make their traditional dresses, occasionally you can see the blacksmiths making farming tools and even hunting riffles. Passing the Muong Hoa river again and then trek uphill to Su Pan village passing the rocks field with unique carving which is believed to be the messages of the ancient peoples. In this village you will see the special technique to build houses on the steep rocky land. From Su Pan trekking downhill for an hour, Ban Ho valley will opens wide in your sight. Arriving to Ban Ho of the Tay late in the afternoon, check in the spacious local house built on stilts for Dinner and Home stay.

Day 3 // Ban Ho // Nam Toong // Sapa    
After Breakfast we spend an hours walking to explore Ban Ho, a large village of the Tay peoples who live on spacious wooden houses built on stilts and very well organized before ascending uphill to Nam Toong village of the Red Zao. The trail of this part is really steep but the higher you reach to, the more stunning scenery will open in your sight. The village locates on the top of a hill and almost isolated and the houses are rudimentary but the peoples are very welcoming. After visiting Nam Toong, you will take another trail back to Ban Ho village an then pick up for transferring back to Sapa by Jeep.

Day 4 // Sapa relaxing day // Night train to Hanoi
Today is set free for your own plan to explore Sapa town. Our recommend is to take a walk to Sapa market, where you can meet tribal ethnic peoples such as Black H’mong, Red Zao, Zay… from nearby villages come every day selling their farming, gathering products: Vegetable, bamboo shoot, mushroom… and of course handicrafts for souvenir. Continue walking the steps from the market to the church and then onto the top of Ham Rong Mountain where you can visit an orchid garden and a small museum about ethnic peoples of the Northwest.
Picked up in the afternoon at about 16.00 by mini bus for a transfer downhill to Lao Cai station for taking the night train back to Hanoi which arrive early next morning and your trip ends.

Day 1 // Lao Cai // Sapa // Ta Van // Seo Mi Ty
Pick up at Lao Cai station upon your early arrival for over an hour transfer uphill to Sapa by mini van with A/C. Freshen up and Breakfast before walking around the town centre and paying visit to the market. Back to our Sapa office for a short transfer southwards by jeep to Ta Van village of the Zay peoples where your trekking begins. The morning trek is really challenging because the path is tough and mostly uphill but you will enjoy many short breaks for resting. The scenery gets more beautiful and the view gets wider as after every hundred meter you walk. After a long break for Lunch, the trek gets easier and the trail winds its way through an area of the nature reservation. Enjoy your discovery of the wild nature before paying visit to an isolated village of the H’mong, watching everyday life activities before arriving to our camp site which is nearby a river away from the village. You may join your tour guide and porters putting up tents and prepare dinner or fancy a walk around to stretch the legs and discover wild life. Evening comes earlier than usual and everyone sit down near the fire for dinner and revise of what you got today. • Breakfast and Lunch and Dinner included

Day 2 // Seo Mi Ty // Den Thang // Ta Trung Ho  
Breakfast and follow a narrow trail sneaking through thick rainforest for a couple of hours, crossing some old suspension bridges and then suddenly the view opens to a wide valley with beautiful terraced of rice paddies in all shapes as you approach to Den Thang village of Black Hmong by noon. Here you will drop in some local homes and visit a school before sitting down for Lunch.
Afternoon trek becomes tougher on tinny footpath going up and down hills to Ta Trung Ho village. Here you will, with your guide, spend the rest of the day walking around the village, visiting homes, talking to the Red Zao people for your discovery of a unique culture and way of life. The area is not visited by tourists and outsiders till recently, so the people is little bit reserved but hospitable and frank.

Day 3 // Ta Trung Ho // Nam Toong // Ban Ho // Sapa
Saying good bye to our host, you are now on the path again, from the fringe of the rain forest of the Hoang Lien Son mountain, ascending through forest and terraced rice paddies and corn fields to Nam Toong, another village of Red Dao and here lunch will be prepared in a local school. It is interesting to spend time talking with the teachers and playing with children, teaching them some English. They are very keen to learn new things.
Continue our trek in the afternoon descending to Ban Ho valley dominated by Tay peoples. Crossing the river by suspension bridge you will walk through this large and well organized village composed by over a hundred large wooden houses built on stilts, enjoying your discovery of the Tay way of life as well as making acquaintance with local peoples. Picked up and transfer by jeep to Sapa late in the afternoon, check in your hotel and relaxed.

Enjoy the whole day to explore Sapa town on your own. Day 3 // Ban Ho // Nam Toong // My Son
After Breakfast we spend an hours walking to explore Ban Ho, a large village of the Tay peoples who live on spacious wooden houses built on stilts and very well organized before ascending uphill to Nam Toong village of the Red Zao. The trail of this part is really steep but the higher you reach to, the more stunning scenery will open in your sight. The village locates on the top of a hill and almost isolated and the houses are rudimentary but the peoples are very welcoming. After Nam Toong, the trail winds its way up and down hill slopes for an hours to Nam Keng and My Son, the two small villages of the Xa Pho ethnic whose population is only about 4000 in Vietnam. Most of the Xa Pho are still living the most primitive way basing on forest gathering, hunting and practicing slash and burn agriculture. Every family here built a small house on stilts away form their living house to avoid catching fire for store their food and valuable property. You will stay overnight in this village.

Day 4 // My Son // Thanh Phu // Sapa
Wake up early for fresh air watching local life before Breakfast. The amazing thing here is watching children walking some kilometers up and down hill to school and it seems that they enjoy their school hours very much! Leaving this poor village, walking downhill to the river for a crossing and then uphill again to Thanh Phu, another Tay village where you will spend about two hours wandering around the village before Lunch. In the afternoon, continue trekking for few hours along the way back which offers panorama view of Ban Ho valley before picked up and drive back to Sapa by jeep. Check in hotel and your evening is free.

Day 5 // Sapa free day // Overnight train to Hanoi    
Today is set free for your own plan to explore Sapa town. Our recommend is to take a walk to Sapa market, where you can meet tribal ethnic peoples such as Black H’mong, Red Zao, Zay… from nearby villages come every day selling their farming, gathering products: Vegetable, bamboo shoot, mushroom… and of course handicrafts for souvenir. Continue walking the steps from the market to the church and then onto the top of Ham Rong Mountain where you can visit an orchid garden and a small museum about ethnic peoples of the Northwest.
Picked up in the afternoon at about 16.00 by mini bus for a transfer downhill to Lao Cai station for taking the night train back to Hanoi which arrive early next morning and your trip ends.

Description  
Breathtaking mountain scenery and tribal villages amongst perfect nature setting are highlights of Sapa. Getting off the beaten track and walking through villages where ethnic minority peoples live, paying visit to their homes, witnessing their every day activities,.. Although traveling in very basic condition, including 2 nights on the train, 1 night home stay in tribal village, 1 night in standard hotel in Sapa, the trip will bring unforgettable experiences.            
ITINERARY
Night 1
(Thursday Night) Take overnight train from Hanoi to Lao Cai
Be ready at our office, No.85, Hang Bo Street, Hoan Kiem District, at 20.00 for a short transfer to Hanoi Station to take the overnight train to Lao Cai City.
• Overnight on the train  

Day 1 (Friday) Lao Cai // Sapa // Y Linh Ho // Lao Chai // Ta Van
Picked up at Lao Cai Station upon your early arrival for over an hour drive uphill in a shared mini van to Sapa. After freshen up and Breakfast in a local restaurant you will enjoy a free walk around this charming town, paying visit to Sapa market and the old cathedral where you can meet a lot of local ethnic minority peoples such as Black H’mong and Red Zao wearing their traditional colorful dresses selling their farming and gathering products and handicrafts for souvenir. Back to our Sapa office at about 10.30 and begin your exploration trip to Muong Hoa valley. You will follow the main road heading south for about an hour before turning right to a foot path down hill to Muong Hoa Valley. This part offers spectacular scenery of the highest part of Hoang Lien Son mountain range and in a nice day, Fansipan Peak can be seen. Crossing the river by a suspension bridge you will challenge your feet uphill to Y Linh Ho village. Here you will pay visiting to some H’mong families, watching them doing their daily works. After picnic Lunch, the trail continues up and down hill for about 2 hours as you reach to Lao Chai, a large village of the H’mong and then following the river bank to Ta Van of the Zay people. Paying visiting to local homes, village schools… you will enjoy much your cultural discovery of local ethnic peoples as well as breathtaking scenery of the Muong Hoa Valley. Settle down in Ta Van village for an overnight home stay.

Day 2 (Saturday) Ta Van // Giang Ta Chai // Hau Thao // Sapa Saturday Market    
Leaving Ta Van village after Breakfast, you will take the trail uphill, passing fascinating terraced rice field and some small hamlets of the H’mong before getting through a bamboo forest to a waterfall, enjoy a break for magnificent scenery and then continue walking for half an hour to Giang Ta Chai village of the Red Zao peoples which sits on the top of a hill and looks down Muong Hoa river. After spending time visiting the village, making friend with the Zao and experiencing the hospitality you will cross the river by another suspension bridge and then uphill again to Hau Thao village where you will pay visiting to a local handicraft center where H’mong and Zao women gather for exchanging experience and skill of making handicrafts. A late Lunch will be prepare here nearby this center and then you have time relaxing as well as getting acquaintance with local school boys, girls and their teachers as well.
Later a short drive will take you back to Sapa, check in your hotel and evening is free to attend the locals at Saturday market in Sapa.

Day 3 (Sunday) Sapa // Bac Ha Market // Overnight Train to Hanoi    
Wake up early for Breakfast and check out your hotel at 07.00 for a 3 hour road ride to Bac Ha via Lao Cai. The road trip is long and hard but the landscapes along the way is so beautiful and several stops at beautiful spots makes the journey shorter. Arrival in Bac Ha at about 10.00 at the most crowded time of the market which is very active and colorful thanks to the traditional dresses of the tribal peoples, especially of the Flower H’mong. You will join the locals at the market for your own discovery, taking a lot of photos as well as enjoying funs. Lunch break in a local restaurant before enjoying a walk for about 2 hours to Ban Pho village of the Flower H’mong and Tay which sits on the sides of several hills looking down a stunning valley. The road trip back to Lao Cai station take about two hours and you will arrive in late afternoon. Taking a shower and Dinner on your own before taking the overnight train to Hanoi which arrive early the next morning and your trip ends.
